As a subcomponent of Talent Management E-Recruiting helps to find the best talents for your company. Integrated with the jobportals like Monsters or Jobpilot the candidate data are send in realtiem to the SAP system where they can be used to manage the selection process. Predefined SAP HR Processes using standard workflows can be used for it, but you can also implement your own needs redifining these HR Prosesses and rewriting the workflows.

SAP Webdynpro

In order to adapt the SAP user interface to internet the webdynpro technology was developed. This technology is used for the SAP Portal and for the NetWeaver Business Client. For example the ESS and MSS applications as well as E-Recruiting are used via internet and therefore are implemented with webdynpro user interfaces.

SAP Employee Self Service (ESS) and Manager Self Service (MSS)

In order to minimize the workload for the HR department SAP offers an Employee Self Service solution called ESS. With this solution the employee can do many tasks without the need of the HR department. Using the ESS the employee can change his address, his marital status, send leave request to his manager and many more.

The manager on the other hand can use the Manager Self Service MSS to approve the requests he has received from his employees. Moreover the MSS offers a lot of applictions to visualize the employee´s information and to manage it.

SAP Time Management


The SAP Time Management solution offers a complete range of applications in order to record, to store, to evaluate and to control time data.

The following diagram shows the Time Management Component and its integration with the SAP modules Logistics and Accounting.



 

You can create work shedules and assign them to your employees, plan the shifts of your company, record the time data of your employees, evaluate this data in order to pay your employees accordingly, handle your incentive wages and many more. There is also a Time Manager Workplace available where the time data of the employees are visualized.

SAP Payroll

One of the most important and crirical issues in HR is payroll. Every month thounsands of employees have to be paid. Also the taxes and the social security fees have to be transfered correctly and in time. Compared to other issues this one seems to be easy to solve, but it isn´t. The problem is that every employee has its individual casuistics, the may be overtime, absences, special payments, night-shifts and many, many more factors that influence in the calculation of the payroll amounts and fees. Moreover each country has its own specific laws rearding taxes and social security.

Workflows in the SAP HR environment

Workflows are used to implement processes where severall persons are involved.



A simple example where workflows are used is the leave approval request in HR. This process consists of e.g. three steps where two persons are involved, the employee and its manager.
In the first step the employee requests vacations and sends this request to the manager. The manager receives the request and can now decide if he wants to approve the vacations or decline them. Afterwards the employee receives a notification mail informing him if the vacations were approved or not.

There many pre-delivered SAP HR workflows as for example the afore mentioned leve request workflow. You can use this standard workflows and adapt them to your business needs. But you can also create completely new workflows.

Personnel Adminitration in SAP

The Personnel Administration (PA) in SAP allows to create employees and store their data permanently. PA is a central component of the SAP HR solution, because here we create employees and these employees are needed for almost every HR process. The only process where we don´t use employees is the recruiting process, because here candidates are handled.

The data of the employees are stored in the so called infotypes. Infotypes are used to group the data of the employee. For example the is the "Personal Data Infotype", also known as infotype 0002 where the name, the sex, the ID number etc of the employee is stored. Another wellknown infotype is the "Address Data Infotype (Infotype 0006 or I0006)".

Organizational Structures in SAP

Every organization has to have a structure. Large or small, private sector or plubic sector, local, national or multinational there is always a need for the people in the business to know who is charge, what their role is and who to contact if there are any problems.

All of these is achieved through a structure or hierarchy.
